Known issues for Content Managers This topic records any issues that may affect your use of the WonderWebs content management facilities. Web browser compatibility for publishing Many content publishing problems arise due to variations in web browser capabilities. Issues typically involve minor but important operations such as copying and pasting, or the plugin requirements of some features, such as Flash. As of 2018, the state of the browsers is as follows: Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge and Internet Explorer 11 are the best for publishing. Internet Explorer is the most broadly compatible browser and it still supports plugins such as Adobe Flash without any drama. Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari and earlier versions of Internet Explorer are not recommended. Web browser compatibility for viewing The WonderWebs platform is designed to work on all currently-supported major cross-platform web browsers. This includes recent releases of Chrome, Edge and Firefox. It does not include Internet Explorer or Safari, however those will typically work without any problems.

Errors displayed in browsers 404 Error displayed on pages other than homepage This is an obscure problem that has been difficult to investigate and resolve. It is rare and it usually resolves itself after a number of minutes. It is to do with the friendly URL rewriting plugin and we expect it will be resolved with future updates. The system is configured to refresh itself regularly to clear and avoid this issue. Broken pages Some pages will appear to be broken and have bits missing or displayed incorrectly. This is also a problem with the friendly URL rewriter and an update will eventually resolve it. The same configuration to refresh the server at certain intervals also clears and avoids this issue.
