    The buyer's experience at PayPal

PayPal payments are processed outside of WonderWebs on a special secure page at PayPal. This has many benefits in terms of cost, simplicity, security and compliance with banking rules.

When your customers are directed to the PayPal payment page, they will land on one of two pages.

One page has a Credit Card payment form on the left and a PayPal login on the right. This is the easiest page to use and it is usually the one that first-time buyers will see. They will see this page if:

    • PayPal does not recognise their email address
    • The computer has no cookies left by someone who has a PayPal account

The other page features a link to the Credit Card payment form on the left and the same login box on the right. This requires the extra step of clicking the link. They will see this page if:

    • PayPal recognises their email address
    • They or someone else who has a PayPal account has used the same computer account

Typically, anyone who has not used and is not familiar with PayPal will see the first page and immediately recognise it as a payment form. Anyone else will already be familiar with PayPal and either sign in or click the link.

When testing payments on your own website, be aware that you will likely always see the second page. In order to view the first page, you must clear out your browser cache and cookies, and use an email address not associated with a PayPal account.
